Do I need council approval to remove a tree?

Depends on the tree and the council area. Moreton Bay, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast councils each have their own significant tree rules, generally based on trunk size and species. We check this as part of the free assessment and tell you plainly if a permit's likely needed, we won't quote a job we can't legally do.

Why do quotes vary so much between tree companies?

Access and method are the two biggest cost drivers, more than the tree's size. A large tree with a clear drop zone can cost less than a smaller tree that has to be rigged down piece by piece over a roof.

What happens to the wood and mulch?

Removed unless you want to keep firewood length rounds, let us know before the job and we'll leave what you want.

Do you clean up before you leave?

Types of Tree Removal

The method of tree removal used depends on the tree, its condition and where it is growing. Here are some of the most common removal scenarios we handle.

Standard Tree Removal

Where there is a genuine clear drop zone a notch cut on the side the tree is meant to fall, followed by a back cut, controls the direction and keeps the fall predictable.

Confined Space Removal

Tight side yards, gaps between houses, trees close to powerlines. Taken down piece by piece rather than dropped, so nothing near it is put at risk.

Palm Removal

Full removal of an overgrown, damaged or unwanted palm, crown and trunk.

Dangerous & Damaged Trees

Split trunks, dead limbs or decay change how safe a tree is to remove. These get properly assessed on site rather than treated the same as any other removal.

Storm Damage

A tree that's come down or been damaged in a storm often isn't stable, even if it looks settled. Handled with that in mind, not as a routine removal.
